Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
|Region||Chile, Colchagua, Apalta Valley|
Intense, deep red color with purple edges. Expressive and intense nose with cassis and black currant aromas. Elegant palate with round and persistent tannins, with fresh cherry along with a light toast flavor. Keep for many years or decant and serve at 16°C (60°F). High flavouring dishes as lamb shank with herbs or pork fillet with mustard and honey.
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvee Alexandre is also 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, all from Apalta, Colchagua, aged for up to 14 months in used barrels. Purple with a garnet sheen. The liqueur-like nose presents notes of sour cherry and black currant plus hints of pepper and mint. In the mouth, it delivers good structure with firm tannins, juicy acidity and intense flavor. This is a full-bodied wine that needs time in the bottle.
Offers a svelte entry of crushed bramble berry and cherry flavors, with subtle floral and loam nuances. Ends with firming, graphite-laced tannins. Best after 2023.
