The 2018 Etna Rosso impresses with masses of black cherry and balsam herbs complemented by a whiff of fresh mint. It's round yet juicy in feel, focused on purity of fruit, with tart berries cascading across its mineral core and lovely inner rose tones that build toward the close. This tapers off a bit short yet fresh, leaving a subtle tug of tannin and a bitter hint behind. The 2018 vintage was challenging on Etna, yet Alta Mora managed to cull an impressive entry-level Rosso from it in spite of that.
