Fresh and racy in feel, with a zip of acidity driving through the middle, lending support to the mix of blackberry, plum and cassis flavors. Dried anise, alder and lilac accents add range on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2022 through 2034. 12,165 cases made.

In this wine, black fruits and tannins give both a dry core and a rich texture that is already beautifully integrated with the fruit. Fresh acidity adds to the wine's attractiveness and aging potential. Drink from 2026.

The 2018 Marquis de Terme is a promising wine. The aromatics are quite expressive while the palate is pliant and racy. At the same time, those components feel like they each live in their own little words, which leaves the wine feeling disjointed. Hopefully time in bottle will help things come together.

Lots of unevolved blue fruits, tobacco, and violet notes emerge from the 2018 Château Marquis De Terme, which is medium-bodied and has a streamlined, firm texture, ripe tannins, and some background oak. It could use more flesh and charm, yet the purity is impressive, as is the overall balance. If it puts on weight over the coming 4-5 years, it will merit a high rating.
