Pretty ruby color, clean and colorful, lively and brilliant. The aromas are intensely fruity and typical of this appellation black cherry, wild blackberry, a fine touch of liquorice. The oak is fine and subtly married. The evolution in bottles brings more. complexity on the nose, with more spicy notes, nutmeg and leather before evoking scents of mushroom and soil. Although present in the mouth, the tannin is not intrusive. It blends without excessive astringency with a good freshness and a harmonious fat. We find the fruity notes of the first nose at the end of the mouth.

(the parcels that go into this wine yielded an average of about 40 hectoliters per hectare in '16): Medium red. Dark raspberry, mint and soil tones on the nose, lifted by subtle violet perfume. A supple, pliant midweight with good energy and concentration. But ultimately less sweet than the Vosne-Romanée, with the tannins arriving late but turning a bit dusty. Jérôme Faure-Brac noted that all three of these village wines from the Côte de Nuits include some premier cru juice.
