Elisabeth Chambellan Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes 2018
|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
Based on 88% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 2% Mourvèdre, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes Elisabeth Chambellan comes from the older vines of the estate and mostly rolled stone/pebbly soils, brought up in a mix of foudre, concrete, and stainless steel. It's deeper and richer, with terrific complexity in its black raspberries, orange blossom, menthol, and flowers incense aromas and flavors. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and balanced, with fine tannins, it's a beautiful wine I'd be thrilled to drink over the coming decade or more.
