The wine is barrel-aged for seven months in one-third new oak, one-third one-year-old and one-third two-year-old. The wine is rich and expansive in the mouth and yet retains an energetic acidity. It is a shapely, luxurious wine which will partner perfectly with any number of richer foods.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc is a year in, year out outstanding white that does everything right. Made form 60% Clairette and 40% Roussanne all from the Les Serres lieu-dit in the southern portion of the appellation, it offers lively, racy notes of lemon, spice melon, honeysuckle and mint to go with a medium-bodied, beautifully textured style on the palate. Drink it any time over the coming 3-5 years. One of the top whites made in the southern Rhône is Ferrando's old vine Clairette release, which is bottled only in magnum.
